A First in Bellechasse: Grand Opening of the Region’s Very First Workplace Daycare!
Sainte-Claire, Thursday, May 29, 2025 – Les Équipements d’érablière CDL Inc., in partnership with CPE
L’Escale (recognized coordinating office – CPE-BC L’Escale), proudly held the official grand opening today
of the very first workplace daycare in the Bellechasse RCM. This innovative pilot project marks a major step
forward in work-life balance for the region.
The initiative, born from a shared vision between CPE-BC L’Escale and CDL, aims to provide a safe, stimulating childcare environment close to the workplace. Priority is given to the children of CDL employees, with remaining spots offered to families in the Bellechasse RCM based on availability.
The coordination of this new daycare service has been entrusted to two educators affiliated with CPE-BC L’Escale: Kelly-Anne Bélanger and Aimé Isimbi. Their mission is to support the healthy development of the children in their care on a daily basis. Their dedication and expertise ensure a high-quality environment for the families who will benefit from this service.
Marie-Pier Jolicoeur, Director of Human Resources at CDL, states: “Thanks to them, the efforts of the past year have come to life. The entire team is proud of this project, which is a tangible gesture towards our employees and our community. Twelve subsidized childcare spots have been created—and they were all claimed immediately! The enthusiasm was instant.”
Marc-André Chabot, Co-owner and Vice President of Research and Development at CDL, adds: “This project perfectly reflects our family values and our ongoing desire to care for our people. To us, this investment in a pilot project is yet another way to innovate—not through technology this time, but through human connection.”
CDL enthusiastically committed to the project, clearly demonstrating its intention to invest in the well-being of its employees and their families. “Their trust and collaboration were essential pillars in making this daycare a reality,” emphasized Manon Dionne, Executive Director of CPE L’Escale (recognized coordinating office), who described CDL as an inspiring model for the community.
Beyond logistics, this pilot project carries great meaning. It represents a concrete commitment to families and could very well pave the way for similar initiatives in the region.
“It is a symbol of our commitment to families, a tangible step toward improving the balance between professional and personal responsibilities. We are confident that this pilot project will yield positive results and inspire other companies in the region to follow suit,” stated the Director of CPE-BC L’Escale during the press conference.
The first children will walk through the doors of this brand-new daycare as of Monday, June 2, marking a new era for work-life balance in Bellechasse.
